The client had been delivering Six Sigma Green Belt training both internally to their employees and externally to their customers. However, the course materials they used were sparse and outdated with visuals that were antiquated, reducing the overall effectiveness of the training.
The lack of comprehensive instructional guidance meant that each instructor presented the material in their own varied way, leading to inconsistent user experiences across classes. Onboarding new instructors became an arduous task because the materials did not provide adequate detail.
Additionally, the unprofessional appearance of the materials made it difficult to convince customers of the training’s value, leaving a less-than-favorable impression.

Modern materials and instructor support improve training consistency
ThinkingKap took on the challenge by redesigning the entire look and feel of the training materials to make them attractive, engaging, and fully aligned with the client’s brand.
- Developed a comprehensive Instructor Guide which included prompts, detailed information, and orienting icons that ensured consistent delivery by all instructors.
- Created an engaging Participant Guide along with numerous new group activities to be integrated throughout the training sessions.
These updates provided substantial guidance to instructors, creating a uniform experience for participants. Furthermore, the visual and structural improvements in the materials presented a more professional appearance, enhancing their appeal to customers.

The client had an existing Green Belt training series, but they were looking for our help to overhaul it. They wanted us to evaluate the course from an Instructional Design perspective, and also provide a completely updated professional look-and-feel.
The client had an existing Green Belt training series, but they were looking for our help to overhaul it. They wanted us to evaluate the course from an Instructional Design perspective, and also provide a completely updated professional look-and-feel.
One of the core things we added to the existing material were lots of new group activities. Green Belt is about process, but it’s also about working with and interacting with people. So, it made complete sense to include lots of opportunities to work with and interact with the other students.
Maybe the biggest new addition was a first-class Instructor Guide, complete with prompts, icons, and all the relevant content a presenter would need. The client not only had some new instructors, but wanted to ensure complete consistency with how the course was presented by everyone.
And we didn’t leave out the students either. They got a completely fresh Participant Guide. But this was no “print out of PowerPoint” guide. This was tailored to follow the PPT slides, but not replicate them. Assets were taken from the slides to anchor the guide, but there were also tons of activities to foster efficient note-taking.
